Yrlith is a Dragonkin Illusionist and Sally’s lover. Partner? Girlfriend? Words are difficult, and so are labels. Yrlith and Sally are in a relationship. They’ll use various words to refer to one another. We’ve got a Dragonkin and a Dwarf who fell in love. Also, they’re both women. So what?
Yrlith has become my favorite character of the group, so I have to be careful on several fronts. One, since she deals with Illusion Magic, I have to make sure not to let her get too powerful. Looking like someone else or making someone else look like someone else can make the plot messy. Playing with emotions through senses is dangerous. Also, since she’s a favorite, I have to neither favor her and let everything go her way, nor can I be over-punishing because I don’t want to be over-favoring.
