Xauloughpeignault, or Hal for short, is a Wood Elf I made up for Book 4. Tentatively. Look, I knew “X” would be hard, and I had to cheat.
But I thought of the “Ghoti” = “Fish” thing, and what if I did that with food names for Elves? That does sound quite fantastical. So, yes, this character is named Jalepeño. Kind of. Why not? That is the beauty of fiction, fantasy, and everything language can do.
Now, what happens with translations? Because I am working (albeit slowly) on translating the books into Japanese. That’s a problem for future me!
