I cannot tell you what inspired me to install this game nearly two years after its release. Seeing a game in my Steam Library can sometimes give me The Itch™, and then I want to mark it Completed.
I wished I had checked Options before starting this one. I would have turned down the difficulty of the action segments because I did not want action segments in a visual novel. Adventure Game. Whatever you call it.
My dislike of minigames is only beaten by my dislike of mandatory minigames. Snowboarding in Final Fantasy 7 after seeing childhood videos of your recently murdered companion was weird.
And I suppose the THINK! segments of The Murder of Sonic the Hedgehog aren’t technically minigames, but they were not fun. I cannot complain too much about a free game, but after the fifth death, I would have appreciated a notification about the difficulty settings tucked away in Options.
Anyway, as someone who does not masturbate to Sonic characters, this game wasn’t really for me. It was fine enough, I suppose. I applaud the developers for making something they wanted to. And I do love clicking on things and putting two and two together. So, I guess I give it one thumbs up and one thumbs down.
