"Do Priests get married, Brot?"

Brot is a Goblin Priest who, based on feedback, is one of the most beloved characters in Toshie the Hero and the Orbs of Destiny.
He is also one of my favorite characters to write. Since he is a bit of a misfit and the son of a Thief, he decided to forge his path and become a Priest by studying at the Church of Elma. This was not common. It’s that Goblins aren’t allowed at the school, but rather, Priesthood was not something that any ever tried for. Why?
Brot has all the skills of a Priest but is not officially one until he completes his Mission. This Mission is why Priests are rare in Vara Elma. It’s not only Goblins. While most Classes are either trained at a school or as an apprentice, Priests must do something grand to become fully recognized.
What’s Brot’s Mission? It’s for him to figure out.
He joins Toshie’s party in Book 1 and is so much fun to write.
There are a few rules I have for writing him. One, he never contracts words. He feels Goblins are looked down upon outside of their homeland and tries to speak "properly," although this leads to verbose and sometimes confusing turns of phrase. Two, he refers to everyone as "Master" because he views himself as a servant to all through the grace of the Goddess Elma. Three, he’s not an idiot or comic relief. He may have a unique view of things because of his upbringing and training. But he’s more a voice of reason. Still, I’ve written some banger lines for him, and I’m so happy that many of my readers consider him the "Best Boy".
