Ingver is the newly elected Chancellor of The Warrens, the underground nation from which most Goblins hail. How she got into the position is tied to the mystery Apfel knows about. The fact that Apfel works for Ingver's family complicates safely divulging this information.
While I'm taking so much inspiration from my love of video game RPGs, I'm trying to avoid the "Big Bad" trope. Perhaps a God (or two) will be killed along the way. Can that be helped when you're trying to save the world? But everyone is inherently selfish, even if it's to a healthy degree or selfish for the sake of others. Why are we selfish? What does each character want? What will they do to get it?
