There are two main divisions of Dwarves in Vara Elma. Stone Dwarves, who hail from Unterstone and focus on mining and baking. Sea Dwarves, like Hildetarte, come from the land of Untersee. Untersee is located in an underground cavern where the
Hildetarte, the youngest child of the previous King and Queen of Untersee, rejected the idea of royalty and rose in the army’s ranks, eventually becoming a general when her brother Schvartzvald took the throne.
Was this assignment out of respect or to get an annoying younger sister out of his hair?
Hildetarte, the first woman to rise in the ranks of the Untersee Army, is fully aware of the various Unterstone and Untersee traditions and feels a pull between respect for the royalty that let her have her success but the breaking of traditions required of her to obtain it.
Also, she’s the youngest of four children. That always leaves a mark on the mind.
