“My new friends!” Ffrutom walked up and put a hand on their shoulders.
Ffrutom is a Houndsfolk and one of the aristocrats of Cartdwyr, a city known for its grand casino. (This character pushed my pixel art limits, haha. Can you tell that it’s supposed to be a tuxedo he’s wearing?)
Anyway, while Houndsfolk have shown up since Book One, Ffrutom is a grand showman who is an absolute delight to write. (I’m starting to realize the issue of writing about characters for this challenge. I don’t want to spoil anything!)
I guess it’s not too much of a spoiler to talk about Cartdwyr. Unlike even the most bustling cities of Vara Elma, it prides itself on pushing Magic into Technology to create dazzling effects and entertainment. Of course, this leads to it being reserved for the wealthy of the land. Is it a haven for those attempting to escape upcoming conflicts? It was initially considered the home of the Houndsfolk, but now it focuses on catering to the rich of the world.
