"They call me Daedalus, and 'twas my destiny to save this world." He took a step toward Toshie but had not noticed the pile of shit he was about to step in. As soon as he did, he went ass-over-teakettle, and Toshie laughed. She jogged over to give him a hand, but he pushed her away.
Like Toshie, Daedalus is a Stranger. Strangers were not born in Vara Elma but wake up there after dying in their original world.
Unlike Toshie, Daedalus knows about Vara Elma. Why? He doesn't say. But he also believes he should be the Hero and is angry that Toshie "stole" the Class from this. He ended up being a Wizard.
Toshie, not caring about being the Hero and just wanting to figure out what is going on, says she'll let Daedalus be the Hero, but it doesn't work that way. At the start of Book 1, they meet the King and Queen of Unterstone - a land of Dwarves - and are given a quest to save the Princess who a Dragon has captured.
Daedalus speaks like he's from a High Fantasy novel, but the truth is he's a nerd who is putting on airs.
