Apfel is a Goblin Maid who will appear in Book 3.

"Sorry for the disturbance, ma’am." Apfel’s voice shook. "But there is a penguin here with a dreadful note."

She serves one of the wealthiest families in The Warrens, the Goblin homeland, and has key knowledge to a mystery no one wants to discuss.
As this is the first post, I’ll discuss something that may not be obvious when reading the books but is different from most fantasy novels.
In the world of Vera Elma, where Toshie the Hero takes place, Goblins, Dwarves, Dragonkin, Elves, everyone ages at the same rate. While there is some divide as to where they originally hail from, you’ll find people of all types in port towns and even in the kingdoms themselves. There is also no "great divide" where all Goblins are poor and live in the dirt or some nonsense like that. Yes, there are poor and rich people of all various races.
I’ve been having fun writing Apfel because she’s a character who knows she is working for a higher class and what that gives her access to. She knows when to play the role she needs to and is not a pushover. It’s challenging, but I like her more with each line of dialogue I write.

Look forward to meeting Apfel in Book 3 of Toshie the Hero, which is scheduled to be released in 2025!
